Why Does God Hate Me? (Part 3)
“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”
Why Does God Hate Me?
We have all seen, in recent time, the natural disasters, human hate, animal attacks and even stellar bodies creeping ever closer to our planet. This has lead many people to ask the question that is our title. Conducting an interview and holding polls to only people that either deny the existence of God or actively rebel against Him we discovered:
- God is not fair because He hates people
- If God loves everyone then why does He allow people to endure horrible things?
- Why does God allow bad people to thrive while good people suffer?
- How can God just sit there and NOT intervene in bad things like: murders, rapes, robberies and people dying before their time in such things as accidents?
- Why does God force us to worship Him or die? If He really loved us, why don’t He just let us live and acknowledge Him in our own way?
- If God is really God, why doesn’t He destroy the false religions and kill the devil once and for all so that we can see Him for who He is?
There are obviously a lot of questions that people ask but what it all boils down to is this:
“Everyone has their own interpretation or idea of how God is supposed to act or perform. So when God does NOT act or display His power or authority in a way that people think that He should, they quote the aforementioned question.”
So let’s address some of the concerns of people about how they feel God should act and how he should behave as we address the question. Why Does God Hate Me?
III. WHY DOES GOD ALLOW BAD PEOPLE TO THRIVE WHILE GOOD PEOPLE SUFFER?
This question has concerned many Christians for years at a time from the beginning even until our present age. One person lives their lives to help others and serve God but seemingly gets nothing for their efforts except trials and troubles while the one that rebukes them and reviles them seemingly gains riches, power and even glory. Why God? I believe that we can see the answer in our text today.
- Because God Has Something Better For You Later
I believe that God, through His word, is trying to tell us that we should not worry about what the bad people are ding because He has something beyond imagination or us. The bible tells us to “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Don’t stress or worry about what or how another person gets along with God because it will drive you nuts. Furthermore, we should not envy the devices, behavior or possessions of those that both hat God or deny Him. Why? Because they shall wither and be no more while we, through Christ, shall thrive and flourish. God has treasures galore for them that love Him and please Him.
2. Because God Has Supplied Them With A Heaven On Earth While Ours Come Later
For a lost person, this life is their heaven. This is whether do all that they can to not leave this life. They will expend great wealth and riches in order to remain longer on this planet to experience its love and admiration. While we have a home beyond the blue they make their homes down here and stay away from things that threaten their own personal God, themselves and their might. “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.” The wicked will not see this land and will not be fed with the bread of life. So when you see the large salaries, big houses, fancy cars and even nice treasure in their homes desire them not because they have sold something in order to purchase these things. We had to except the free gift of the one that bought us!
3. Because God Has Safety Trusted Us To Do The Right Thing And Is Allowing Us To Build Our Eternal Resume While They Are Spending Away Their Inheritance
Can God trust you to make the best decisions with His time, talent and treasure that He has allowed you to borrow? What does this mean? As yourselves these questions:
A. What desires have God given you? Are you using them to make Him look good?
B. What talents do you have? Are You using them to please Him?
C. When you gain money, what is your first thought? If it isn’t “How Can I Spend This Money To Please God?” Then there could possibly be some selfish desires.
D. Are you against spending more money than you should normally spend on the things of God?
E. What do you spend your extra money on? Do you invest in things that will last forever or do you invest in things that have diminishing or no returns?
F. What do you spend your free time doing? If you can criticize people for going to bars and drinking when you blow time on the cell phone and watching TV then what is the difference? Both are spending money on something that takes their mind, will and emotions away from God!
G. How often do you read the bible or how often do you study the bible? Do you read Facebook posts more than the bible? If so, this is idolatry! Do you think that God deserves to be first or your smartphone?
H. What would your spouse do if you spent as much time with them as you spend with God? Would they feel loved or would they think that you hated them?
As Christians, we really don’t have the right to complain that God is being good to bad people and bad to good people when the ones that say they love Him don’t even show it. Somebody say AMEN! Instead of focusing on what God is doing for someone else and not doing for you, we should really praise Him for what He has done already. We should delight in the fact that He is God and that He is willing to hear us even when we don’t deserve it. “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:”
God loves you very much because of Him sending Jesus for you and the fact that He created you. If that isn’t enough, He proves His love for all humanity by even being good to bad people before His own children sometimes. What do you want Him to do; be bad to all bad people and good to all good people? We see in scripture that didn’t work! The good people disobeyed Him and the bad people made their own gods. You can’t have it both ways. This chapter spends a great deal of time telling Christians to focus on the goodness of God not the selectiveness of His goodness. Otherwise we will become jealous and hate Him and the person of which God grants His goodness. Besides, God is God! He doesn’t owe any human an explanation nor does He need to explain Himself. Don’t think so? Who made who? In tomorrow’s devotional we will talk about why God doesn’t intervene in horrible instances and even murders.
