What Does The Bible Teach About Black Lives Matter? (Part 2)

II Timothy 4:1-5

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

People have forgotten that God created mankind to serve and worship Him as we bring Him pleasure with our lives. Sin has created a type of amnesia for God. We see this as early as the Garden of Eden when Adam hid from God whom is everywhere. In his sin amnesia, he forgot that he is unable to hide from God. We have all adopted that mindset from Adam and for that cause we all have a sin nature as recorded in Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” So according to the bible, we have a perpetual desire to increase in ungodliness in our quest to be our own god.

The Black Lives Matter Movement is a movement that has been recently brought to the surface to assist in granting equality to all blacks and their freedom, pursuit to life liberty and justice. However, many people fail to do their research about this institution and blindly follow it. In doing research I have discovered that this organization is against the principles in the bible and promotes a “Sodom and Gomorrah” culture. I will share what they teach and how it lines up with biblical teachings. Join us as we tackle a very controversial subject; what the bible teaches about The Black Lives Matter Movement.

Disclaimer: In my research, I will share direct quotes from the website of the black lives matter movement and passages from the King James Version of The Bible. I make no apologies for my views and my Christian heritage and background. My intent is to give the facts about this institution and allow the readers to draw their own conclusions and inferences from there. Any opinions or statements aren’t intended to cause damage to this institution but to “as they indicate” raise public awareness.”

WHAT IS BLACK LIVES MATTER?

IV. Guiding Principle Number 4 (GLOBALISM“We see ourselves as part of the global Black family and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black folk who exist in different parts of the world”  What I find particularly disturbing about this principle is that this institution almost sounds as if it voices the opinions of all blacks everywhere. This is NOT true and in fact, it frankly bothers me that they would dare to be so presumptuous in saying that “we see ourselves as part of the global Black family”.   If “BLM” was truly serious and sincere about their brand, they would seek to goto Rwanda and put a dent in the real black lives matter epidemic of genocide. Does this celebrate Globalism? My definition of Globalism is found in Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” I am not sure if there is apathy there but globalism doesn’t disregard areas that aren’t as glamorous. It seems as if the BLM movement seems to do it’s efforts just to be seen on camera.

V. Guiding Principle Number 5 (COLLECTIVE VALUE“We are guided by the fact all Black lives, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status or location”  I find this statement to be disturbing because their guiding principle says that they are guided to accept all black lives, since they are the only one that seem to matter. If this is true, then why does the Howard University Organizer of the Black Lives Matter chapter post tweets likes these. Ask yourselves, what collective value is this:

These are other tweets that members of the same chapter posted:

Does this sound like a sincere display of Collective Values? To me this sounds like poor judgment on social media. The bible warns about this type of behavior in Proverbs 22:24-25 “Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.” This is a graphic and utterly repugnant display of ignorance, hatred and anti-patriotic behavior. Would you support this organization?

VI. Guiding Principle Number 6 (TRANSGENDER AFFIRMING“We are committed to embracing and making space for trans brothers and sisters to participate and lead. We are committed to being self-reflexive and doing the work required to dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.”  I applaud the BLM institution for their inclusion of all types of people however I am concerned about the aforementioned principle. In a world where people struggle with finding purpose, the lack of identity only complicates their quest. I do not personally support any organization that is against the principles in the bible however, in my attempt to be subjective I find this:

  1. BLM is already controversial and barely able to police it’s own issues
  2. BLM’s desire to be inclusive of all “Black Folks” is a novel idea but again adding more controversial subjects to something that is already riddled with what can only be called “drama” only builds a stage for terrible violence.

So not only will there be an incident with black lives but I soon anticipate the BLM movement making accusations that “Black” non-heterosexual members are being discriminated against because other members of races are being treated better than they are being treated. This has the potential to be pressure cooker of controversy and drama. I am reminded in Romans 1:21-22 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,”. I have not heard one person in the BLM movement thank God that they are in a country that allows them to freely protest. I have never heard on of the BLM members give God the glory for what He has given to them. What I have seen is many BLM member become vain and care about themselves more than others. They care more about Black Lives instead of all lives. The bible says that their foolish heart was darkened. How? To destroy the very resources that law enforcement utilizes to keep citizens safe displays foolishness. In the recent North Carolina riots, riots destroy many police cars. They thought that destroying property would make a statement that they need to be heard, but what it really shows is their inability to intelligently show diplomacy. As I said before, this is similar to throwing a temper tantrum.

The BLM movement not only promotes racism but it also promotes the homosexual agenda. As Christians, we are warned that we should have nothing to do with the things that God called an abomination. I know that no human today walks on water and is perfect, but we all have a choice whether or note will choose to follow ignorance or intelligence. The ONLY way that this world will change is when the overwhelming presence of God fills the land. As long as people choose to follow Satan we will have institutions that pervert the law and speak about change but do nothing proactive to promote real change. My prayer is that the BLM movement teaches young black men to respect the law, honor the fallen and fear God while bettering themselves as productive members of society. In our next devotionals we will continue with the BLM guiding principles and share more contradictions. Join us again as we address real life issues with biblical answers on Worship With Willie.
